Weanlings officially weaned

Here are a few pictures of our 2009 colt crop. These pictures were taken on 10-17 after we got them weaned and down the road to Dan's place. After we got the gate shut behind Dan and made sure the mares were ok, we headed down to his place to help get the little ones off the trailer but when we pulled in the weanlings were already in the round pen! It looks pretty neat when you drive by and see all the colors in the yard, we have red roan, red duns, buckskin, and we still haven't decided the color of Lena's! We have the registration papers sent off on Cane, Drifter, Royal, and Smokey's babies but we haven't got them back yet.

Even though the weanlings are muddy and do not look their best, I am impressed with the amount they have grown and filled out since I was there in August. I will be very interested in the changes they go through this winter and into next spring.
